END OF YEAR THOUGHTS

2024 has been a crazy year for me. Full of high highs and low lows.

The highs include: Graduated college with two degrees, published two EPs, hosted another NG collab album and my first ever competition, started a second job that I love, and got to experience a lot of romantic relationship firsts (first Valentine’s day, first birthdays, first anniversary, etc.)

The lows include: Got dumped by the woman I wanted to marry (literally the worst I’ve ever felt in my life, no comparison), started going to counseling (a form of therapy), and a lot of stress relating to my future

Although all the lows really have silver linings, y’know? Therapy has been really good for me, in so many ways. I also really do feel like, retrospectively, I dodged a bullet by not ending up with my ex. Not saying that to devalue her or to say I didn’t or don’t love her. I simply believe that ultimately, this is for my benefit. My love for her has changed into something I’ve never felt before; it’s a love that wants her to succeed without me being apart of her life. It’s a strange feeling, but I’m at peace with it. My therapist says it's a love we don't have a great word for, lol. Anyways...

So maybe the old hymn is right! “Count your many blessings, name them one by one; count your many blessings, see what God hath done”…maybe 2024 wasn’t so bad after all. Through the stress, through the heartache, I’ve still got so much to be grateful for and still so much to celebrate. Thank you, Lord, for Your comfort, discipline, and guidance.

In terms of fun stuff, a got a lot of cool stuff this year. Even just recently, I got an Xbox Series S, started collecting LEGO sets and comic books (if you have any comic issue / graphic novel / manga suggestions let me know!!), got the Hatsune Miku VX4 software, and started hanging out with my friends more often. Among other things! I’m making plans to have a great year next year, too.

And in terms of music, I put out two EPs this year. Two! Not just singles, but collections of music I can be proud of. I hope to do something even bigger and better next year.

Not sure if I’m gonna do another “In July” collab album next year. But if I do, I’ll likely announce it in February or March! Keep an eye out for it, and leave any theme suggestions you have in the comments.

So thank you for reading this retrospective. I’ve got music projects in the works, I swear. I might be a little too ambitious for my own britches, but I think that ambition when tempered with patience will be rewarded. And I’m confident that 2025 will be another good year, despite any ups and downs it may bring.
