I’ve been engaging with literature more and it’s been super dope. Here’s everything I’m bouncing between now:
- Reading 1 new-to-me comic book issue every single day in 2025. A personal challenge of mine that’s been super fun and rewarding. Just finished Vols. 1 and 2 of the New 52’s Detective Comics, which I found at my local library. Starting today Gwenpool vol. 2, also from the library.
- My giant leather-bound KJV study Bible. Current reading through the book of Acts about my goat the Apostle Paul.
- ”Gamemaster Declassified” by Matthew Taranto and Howard Phillips, a visual history of Nintendo of America’s earliest years with a fun cartoon twist.
- Bram Stoker’s original “Dracula,” also from the library. Only a couple chapters in but it’s very engaging so far!
In terms of comics, I have a ton of single issues and collected books to catch up on that I’ve got laying around. Paul Dini’s Zatanna run, the Absolute Wonder Woman line (I’ve been keeping up with the Absolute books as they drop), the DC vs. Marvel Amalgam omnibus, Watchmen, and the new Ultimate Spider-Man run, to name a few. I also want to eventually read Invincible and TMNT: The Last Ronin.
I also want to get some classic fiction I’ve never read in there. Stuff like Fahrenheit 451, 1984, etc.
While I love a good fiction, I’m also looking to expand into some nonfiction. I want to brush up on history, philosophy, theology, and psychology. I’ve got some C.S. Lewis coming in the mail soon, and I’m also interested in authors like A.W. Tozer, Carl Jung, and Nietzsche, just to name a handful.
Let me know what you’ve been reading, or if you have any suggestions for authors or books that you like!

I have John Truby's "The Anatomy of Story" in my bag while I'm on a camping trip, but so far it's only been a last resort item if my batteries run out. I am a dum dum and I need to read more. :(
