Didn't finish the game but I did enjoy what I played! The art and music were a highlight, and the gameplay was fairly easy to understand. I think a way to get more origamis should be implemented, and I found it a bit too easy to get stuck on ladders while coming off of them. This was a very solid package overall, despite the few hiccups I encountered!

DaShahRach00 responds:

You can already buy other origami in the shop, if you want more!

Both of TappyWara's drawings feel specifically catered to me lol; I love angular art styles and Gildedguy & BF are two of my favorite characters right now, and Tappy did an excellent job translating them into that angular style.

Everyone else did great as well! I loved the mix of styles, and although I do wish there were more pics and that they were in a random order, this was a great April Fools Day joke.

TappyWara responds:

i love YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think the ship was a bit too large and clunky, and the enemies probably should have had different bullet colors to make them stand out more, but ultimately it was a serviceable little game. I like that there was light story that was never fully shown in-game; it reminds me of actual retro arcade titles.

EliteMasterEric responds:

Thank you for providing constructive feedback!

Ultimately, this was a quick project that purposefully ignored features like mobile support, additional powerups, a more elaborate ending fight, etc. It was mainly intended to be an exercise in constraining scope for the purpose of ensuring the game saw a proper release within the jam deadline; many of my previous projects and tech demos ended up in the scrapyard of unfinished projects and my absolute objective was to keep this from being one of them.

I'm definitely glad you found some fun playing the game, maybe we'll see a Space Damsel 2 someday.

Thanks again Dungeonation for letting me join the collab!! It came put super well! My notifications are exploding!

Intrapath responds:

Same, seeing the notifications hit triple-digits is something else!

(Don't read this review if you don't want spoilers!! All you need to know is that this game is real good.)

This game has so much depth and detail to it, it feels impossible to find everything. Genuinely I find myself dumbfounded by how much is available, including several games within the game. Finding a website name randomly, inputting "[name].shrimp," and discovering that it works is pure gold.

The comedy is impeccable, the animation and artwork variety is great, and the organization of everything feels very natural. I do wish I could fullscreen the game but that's neither here nor there. Another small complaint would be that some instructions in certain apps are unclear, and I wish I could zoom into the paint app, but that's far overshadowed by the sheer quality and quantity of the rest of the game.

Small TW; this paragraph of the review talks about a personal loss. The Sonic PS2 walkthrough's ending, the Discord call, hit me emotionally. My grandmother recently passed away, and having the narrator barely squeeze out "It's good seeing you. I miss you." in a more emotional tone, followed by the episode emotionally ending, was not only very impactful for me on a personal level, but WOW that's fantastic storytelling. The implication that the narrator is making these videos because he wants to help others because he failed to capitalize on the time he had with his loved one is a very nice headcanon for me. Sorry for getting sappy in a Newgrounds game review, but thank you for bringing back positive memories of mine and reminding me of all the time well spent with her.

Anyways, easy five stars for this game. Everyone did fantastic work on this, and it's so much fun exploring every nook and cranny of this game.

Also I have to ask: Why shrimp???? Don't get me wrong it's hilarious by why shrimp specifically

Jack responds:

i like shrimp

This is such a fun, relaxing game. I audibly gasped in delight when I learned I could download the pictures I took. The graphical style is perfect, and the music track is very fitting. I sincerely hope yall decided to build on this concept!! I think with a little improvement this could shape up to be something really, really special.

I do think it's a little too easy to get lost, and knowing where to place bridges can be a little confusing. Other than that, I think you have a solid little experience on your hands. Bravo!

YerayBunnyMoon responds:

Thank you very much! We want to keep working on the idea and make improvements.
